Majlis Penyerahan Warta Tanah Pimuung Singai

Congratulations to Kampungs Daun, Sinibong, Tanjung Bowang in Singai, Bau on the successful handover of the 636 lots of Native Customary Rights (NCR) under Section 18.

It was handed over during the “Majlis Penyerahan Warta Tanah Pimuung Singai” held at 9am on 19/1/19 at the “Kelab Sukan dan Rekreasi Kampung Suduoh” in Singai, Bau by the Chief Minister of Sarawak.

Datu Ik Pahon Joyik, President of DBNA was also present at the event. YB Dato Henry Harry Jinep was present to celebrate together with the recipients.

Booths on history of the Singai land documentation project and the journey of success to today, hosted by DBNA Serapi Branch.

Bidayuh traditional dance @ Countdown 2018

The award-winning Bidayuh Dance Troupe from Kampung Tematu Kuching, presented the Bidayuh traditional dance at the Countdown 2018 organised by the Ministry of Arts & Culture Srawak.

Led by their troupe leader Mr John Pata anak James Jumin, this participation was made possible because of Mr John Pata’s positive response to rise to the call.

They performed tonight 31/12/19 from 5pm-midnight at the Waterfront, Kuching, Sarawak.

“Hari Belia” or Youth Day celebrations in Sibu

DBNA is proud to have been a part of the Sarawak state level “Hari Belia” or Youth Day celebrations in Sibu, Kuching, Sarawak on Sunday 18/11/18.

Coordinated by Mr Mejun Abang of DBNA Sibu branch, and led by Mr Terence Gopa of the Youth category, the DBNA contingent came in full constumes and to represent the 4 major language groups of the Bidayuhs.

My Presence SIL Conference @ Sibu Sarawak

DBNA was invited to present at the “My Presence SIL Conference” in Sibu, Sarawak on 14 November 2018.

Datu Ik Pahon is represented by Mr Josak Siam, the Coordinator of the Bidayuh Language Development Programme, which is the association’s signature language preservation education programme in collaboration with SIL.

Thank you SIL for inviting DBNA to present on the journey on preserving the Bidayuh languages. All the best to SIL and DBNA in the continuing journey.

We have the Wordlists for the Bidayuh languages i.e. Bukar Sadong, Biatah, Bau-Jagoi for sale at DBNA Headquarters. If and when you are in Kuching, do stop by the office during office hours. Mr Josak and the Admin team would be more than happy to show you the books, which are selling for RM5 and RM25.

Bidayuh Language Debate & Bidayuh Salako Wordlist Launching

Itsssss’s back!! A Bidayuh language debate is happening and this time, it’s organised by the DBNA Lundu Branch together with our friends at WAIfm.

At the same time, there will be a launching of the Bidayuh Salako Wordlist at 9am on November 17, 2018.

The back drop is in the Salako language, in case you are wondering. 😀

All Bidayuhs are welcomed. Do make your way to Lundu.

DBNA Admin Hq office will also be putting up a stall selling the other Wordlists (books) in the other 3 Bidayuh languages.
