DBNA Central and Padawan branch will be leading a delagation of around 30 members to Kampung Sapit in Ulu Padawan for a two-day retreat on Nov 21 and 22.
DBNA Padawan Branch Chairman Harry Busan said the programmed is to be officiated at By Assistan Minister of Public Health Datuk Dr Jerip Susil while DBNA president Datu Ik Pahon Joyik is also expected to be present.
“The retreat is part of our anual activities and among the events are an NCR land dialogue session to be conducted by DBNA land documentation committee member Genot Sinel and a youth workshop,”, he told The Borneo Post at DBNA headquarters yesterday.
Participants will be taken on a tour of Kampung Sapit up to the Kalimantan border during the visit.
“This is the first time we are organising a retreat at Kampung Sapit and one of the reasons we chose this remote village located near the Kalimantan border is we don’t want the Bidayuh community there to feel left out of activities organised by DBNA”
Harry said DBNA would be donating a professional sound system equipment to the village in conjunction with the association’s visit there.
“Additionally, DBNA Women’s wing will donate to Kampung Sapit kitchenware that include a cooking stove, cooking utensils, woks, gas tank and water dispensers,” he said.
A simple ceremony was held at the headquarters yesterday for Harry and DBNA secretary general Jubilant Austin Way to hand over the sound system to Kampung Sapit village chief Yuyuh Gumi, while DBNA vise president Jimas Jihel handed the kitchenware to deputy chairperson of the village women’s bureau, Monica Ridang.
