KUCHING (May 3): The Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) delegation led by President YBhg Datu Ik Pahon Joyik, President of DBNA presented donations amounting RM19,800 to the family of the late Royal Malaysian Navy personnel Joanna Felicia Rohna at Kampung Engkeroh, Serian today.
The donation amount was raised following a fund raising initiative mooted by DBNA Serian branch to lend a helping hand during these trying times for the bereaved family.
Datu Ik Pahon handed over the funds to Haslie Ali, husband of the late Joanna. He and the delegation also took a moment to pray for the late Joanna and offered comforting words to members of the bereaved family.
Also present during the visit were Temenggong Henry Bujang Sendan, DBNA Deputy President and Chairman DBNA Serian Dr Charlie Ungang, Vice President Dr Clarence Jerry, exco members of DBNA Serian, Kedup and Tebedu branches and members from other DBNA branches who drove all the way to Kampung Engkeroh.
Joanna was a Laskar Kanan (Leading Rate) who tragically lost her life in an incident on 23 April 2024 in RMN naval base in Lumut, Perak
